Mobilgrease XHP™ 222 bearing grease helps enhance equipment protection and prevent unscheduled downtime*
Customer-estimated annual savings ofmore than $13.8K
A Chinese brewery lubricated the KFC bearings of its steam scrubbers and pasteurizers with a competitive EP2 grease. Due to the equipment’s harsh operating conditions, grease oxidation and emulsification developed over time, resulting in bearing damage and unscheduled downtime. As a result, the company’s maintenance personnel approached ExxonMobil engineers for an alternative lubricant solution capable of enhancing equipment protection.
Based on elastohydrodynamic (EHL) calculations, ExxonMobil engineers recommended transitioning to Mobilgrease XHP™ 222 bearing grease. Formulated with lithium complex thickener technology, Mobilgrease XHP™ 222 grease is engineered to provide excellent high-temperature performance with superb adhesion, structural stability and resistance to water contamination. ExxonMobil engineers also recommended supplementing the brewery’s outstanding maintenance practices with a comprehensive program of Mobil Planned Engineering Services.
After transitioning to Mobilgrease XHP™ 222 bearing grease and implementing Mobil Planned Engineering Services, the company has reported a number of performance benefits, including reduced bearing damage, enhanced equipment protection, less unscheduled downtime, and streamlined lubrication and maintenance costs, resulting in an annual savings of US $13,813.
*This proof of performance is based on the experience of a single customer. Actual results can vary depending upon the type of equipment used and its maintenance, operating conditions and environment, and any prior lubricant used.
