How to cut 50,000 tons of waste
50,000 tons of waste.
That’s how much waste we redeploy from our global network of lubricant plants into new, productive uses every year.
That means more than 90% of the waste produced is diverted from local landfills.
These two facts are among the reasons why ExxonMobil has become the first petroleum products company to secure Zero Waste to Landfill Silver validation from UL, the global independent safety science company.
UL monitors and measures material flows that are not part of an organisation’s final product. This is an objective way to quantify waste diversion rates.
Thanks to a range of waste diversion techniques across our global lubricant plant network, we aim to bring greater value to the environment and the economy.
The achievement demonstrates our commitment to reducing environmental impact and giving operators more sustainable choices through our Mobil-branded lubricants.
The validation covers our global network of lubricant blending and packaging plants, which manufacture all Mobil™-branded products.
