Yes, Mobil DTE™ 20 Series products are the subject for retirement: Mobil DTE™ 21, Mobil DTE™ 22, Mobil DTE™ 24, Mobil DTE™ 25, Mobil DTE™ 26, Mobil DTE™ 27, Mobil DTE™ 28 (no replacement in EAME zone). Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra products can fully replace Mobil DTE™ 20 products in the most popular viscosity grades (in EAME zone: ISO VG 22 – ISO VG 100), bringing much better performance in terms of wear protection, longer oil drain intervals and higher cleanliness of critical hydraulic components. Please check the Product Data Sheet (PDS) for more information on specific products.

Yes, products from Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra Series are fully compatible with products from Mobil DTE™ 20 Series: e.g. Mobil DTE™ 24 Ultra could be mixed with Mobil DTE™ 24. For the best performance of Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra Series we would recommend draining the old product and putting the new one into the system.
No. Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra products do contain zinc. If you need zinc-free product, we have Mobil DTE™ 10 Excel Series which can deliver even higher performance versus Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra Series in terms of even longer oil drain intervals, energy efficiency potential, wider range of operating temperatures etc.
Please click the ‘Download PDS button’ on this page and you will see all core technical characteristics and critical industry specs we meet with new products. If you need information for specific equipment builders or on the builder for a specific machine – please send a request through the ‘Raise a question button’ or please contact one of our Authorized Mobil distributors via the ‘Where to Buy’ button.
New products will start appearing in different markets in Q2 2020. Products should be available in Europe (incl. Russia, Kazakhstan), Turkey, Africa, Middle East in similar packages which Mobil DTE™ 20 Series were supplied. Please contact authorized Mobil distributors to check on local availability for specific products which might differ depending on the region.
Yes, products from Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra Series can be used when HLP type of fluids as per DIN 51524-2 are required: HLP 22 (Mobil DTE™ 22 Ultra – ISO VG 22); HLP 32 (Mobil DTE™ 24 Ultra – ISO VG 32) , HLP 46 (Mobil DTE™ 25 Ultra – ISO VG 46) , HLP 68 (Mobil DTE™ 26 Ultra- ISO VG 68), HLP 100 (Mobil DTE™ 27 Ultra – ISO VG 100). Product Description

Mobil DTE™ 20 Ultra Series oils are high performance anti-wear hydraulic oils with extended oil life capabilities and have demonstrated up to 2 times longer oil drain intervals versus similar competitive oils (*).

They meet the stringent requirements of hydraulic systems using high pressure, high output pumps as well as other hydraulic system components such as close clearance servo-valves and numerically controlled (NC) machine tools. The products exhibit outstanding oxidation and thermal stability allowing long oil life and minimized deposit formation in harsh conditions and with severe hydraulic systems using high pressure, high output pumps. The keep clean performance protects critical hydraulic system components from malfunction, such as tight tolerance servo and proportional valves found in many modern hydraulic systems.

These products met the most rigorous performance requirements of a wide range of hydraulic system and component manufacturers, allowing use of a single product with excellent performance characteristics.

(*) with a viscosity index around 100 and a zinc-based anti-wear system - meeting at least ISO 11158 (L-HM) and/or DIN 51524-2 (HLP type) requirements.

Features and Benefits

Features Advantages and Potential Benefits
Outstanding Keep Clean Performance Reduced system deposits and sludge to help protect equipment and extend equipment life, reduce maintenance costs and improve total system performance
Enhanced Anti-wear Performance Meets or exceeds major pump manufacturer requirements, helps extend component life
Exceptional Thermal and Oxidation Stability Helps reduce maintenance downtime and costs by contributing to system cleanliness and deposit reduction even under harsh operating conditions and high power density
Enhanced Corrosion Protection Helps ensure protection with a wide variety of component metallurgy
Controlled Demulsibility Protects systems from small and large quantities of water and helps extending filter life
Quality Reserve Maintains performance features even under severe service conditions and extended drain intervals

Applications

  • Hydraulic systems critical to deposit build-up or where sludge and deposits form with conventional products
  • Hydraulic systems requiring a high load-carrying capability and anti-wear protection, and when thin oil-film corrosion protection is an asset
  • Where small amounts of water are unavoidable
  • Systems containing gears and bearings
  • Machines employing a wide range of components using various metallurgy
